Born in East Java Indonesia 1967, Rudi Julianto Graduated from the "Indonesia Institute of Art" in 1990.
He started growing bonsai as a hobby in 1987, he is self-thought and considers nature as his best teacher. The satisfaction he gains from collecting from the wild, nursing the collected tree, and then creating a different natural form is unlike anything else he has experienced.
Rudi has over 100 bonsai of various tropical species, all created by himself, displayed in his garden. Semi cascade is his favorite of all styles, but he derives inspiration from viewing bonsai as well as Mother Nature.
When asked how important is drawing in bonsai styling, he replies, "The planing of styling a wild tree to become an artful creation includes extensive drawing to begin the process. Following the drawing as a guideline and putting an ample amount of time into care and love for the tree will ultimately give us the result that we are looking for.
